Prima Duminică din Postul Mare
Evrei 11, 24-26; Ioan 1, 43-51

Scrisoarea către Evrei vorbește astăzi despre Moise, cel ce a ales să sufere necazuri cu poporul lui Dumnezeu decât să se bucure de plăcerile trecătoare ale păcatului, considerând “ocara lui Hristos” o bogăție mai mare decât comorile din Egipt. Acest pasaj subliniază importanța concentrării pe valorile spirituale față de plăcerile lumești trecătoare, reorientându-ne spre negarea de sine și sacrificiu pentru aproapele, practicate mai des în Postul Mare.

În Evanghelia după Ioan, asistăm la chemarea lui Filip și a lui Natanael. Filip, la întâlnirea cu Domnul, este imediat convins de măreția Lui și merge să își anunțe și prietenul. Natanael, inițial sceptic, este surprins când Isus îi împărtășește lucruri tainice. Această întâlnire îl determină pe Natanael să-L recunoască pe Isus ca Fiul lui Dumnezeu și Regele lui Israel.

1. Domnul le demonstrează viitorilor ucenici natura Sa divină, recunoscându-l pe Natanael înainte de întâlnirea lor fizică. Acest lucru evidențiază atotștiința și omniprezența lui Dumnezeu.

4. Mărturisirea lui Natanael: “Rabi, tu ești Fiul lui Dumnezeu! Tu ești Regele lui Israel!” este un moment crucial. Ne reamintește de importanța recunoașterii adevăratei identități și suveranități a lui Isus în viața noastră.

In the Gospel according to John, we witness the calling of Philip and Nathanael. Philip, upon encountering our Lord, is immediately convinced of His significance and goes to share this news with his friend. Nathanael, initially skeptical, is surprised when Jesus reveals supernatural knowledge about him. This encounter prompts Nathanael to acknowledge Jesus as the Son of God and King of Israel.

1. The Lord demonstrates His divine nature by knowing Nathanael before their physical encounter. This highlights the omniscience and omnipresence of God.
